Speciality doors.
A different way in.
A door can change the way a room works. It can disappear into a wall, share light between spaces or become a beautiful detail in its own right.
We design the doorway alongside the kitchen, bathroom and wider interior: thinking about what you see, how you move and what lies beyond.

Open the room.
Give the space back.
A pocket door slides into a cavity within the wall. Removing the swing of a hinged door can make a real difference beside a kitchen island, in a compact bathroom or on the route to a pantry.
We use glass and solid door variations, choosing the finish and the way the opening is framed to suit the whole room. ECLISSE offers Classic systems with architraves and Syntesis systems for an architrave-free finish.
Light, with a sense of separation.
Glass keeps a visual connection between rooms. Clear, satin, patterned and coloured options offer different ways to balance light, decoration and privacy.
A quieter, more enclosed room.
A solid leaf gives visual privacy and can pick up the colour or material palette around it. At The Hut, pocket and flush doors help connect entertaining, working and wellness spaces.

Keep a pantry or utility within easy reach, and give circulation around furniture the room it needs.
In the bathroom
Think about the basin, shower, clear opening and privacy together, with handles and locking suited to the room.
Between living spaces
Use single or double openings to connect rooms, with the option to close them when their uses change.
02 / Flush & concealed doors
Let the wall
keep its rhythm.
Sometimes the most interesting door is the one you barely notice. Concealed frames and carefully aligned finishes allow the opening to sit quietly within the room.
At Ash House, we clad concealed doors with Acquabella Hera panels. The vertical texture continues across the doorway, while the handle becomes a small, deliberate detail. It is a project-specific combination of door, panelling and hardware, designed together.
ECLISSE’s Syntesis collection includes both pocket and flush hinged systems. The hinged options can be painted to match the wall or given their own contrasting finish; we have also used flush doors at The Hut.
03 / Beyond the expected
Artisan glass.
A softer curve.
Doors can be an opportunity for something more individual. We can explore decorative glass, unusual proportions and curved openings as part of the design conversation.
Murano glass detailing
ECLISSE’s artisan designs combine sandblasted patterns with hand-cut Murano glass pieces, known as tozzetti. Applied by hand, they bring colour and craftsmanship to the glass.
The wider 10 mm glass collection offers bespoke dimensions and the possibility of individual designs, subject to the manufacturer’s review. We can discuss how a pattern, colour or degree of transparency could work within your scheme.
Doors that follow a curve
A curved doorway can continue the sweep of a wall and give the transition between rooms a different character. ECLISSE offers specialist curved single and double pocket-door systems, with sizes, radii and finishes discussed to suit the project.
These are options to consider early, while the wall geometry and layout are being developed. We can help explore the design and obtain a project-specific specification and quotation.

Texture, tone
and a sense of continuity.
Vicaima gives us another way to bring the doors into the wider interior scheme. We have specified the range at Ash House and for a returning client’s home in the south of England, where our work also included a sauna.
We can explore real-wood veneers, textured decorative finishes and lacquered colours, with glazed and unglazed designs available across selected ranges. The door, its frame and the ironmongery can be considered alongside the furniture and other finishes.
Dekordor 3D offers tactile surfaces, including Carbon Black, with selected designs allowing grooves or metallic inlays. For a concealed-frame approach, Vicaima’s Portaro Integrated systems offer further possibilities.
Finishes, glazing and door-system combinations are checked for the particular specification.
05 / Part of the architecture
Plan the opening
with the room.
Speciality doors are an architectural decision. Their position, wall construction and finished appearance all affect the spaces around them. Bringing them into the conversation early gives us more freedom with the design.
The way you move
We consider the clear opening, adjoining furniture and routes through the home, so the door supports everyday use.
What sits within the wall
The pocket, wall thickness and service routes need coordinating with the building work. Where an opening affects the building’s structure, we work with the relevant project professionals.
Where the finishes meet
We bring the frame, plaster, panelling, tiles, skirting and handles into the same detail. Applied cladding needs checking against the chosen door and hardware.
How the room feels
Privacy, light, ease of use and any required fire or acoustic performance guide the choice of a suitable, documented door system.
Can pocket doors work in a kitchen or bathroom?
They can be a useful way to free up floor space. The opening, wall cavity, services and chosen door finish need to suit the room. We consider these alongside the kitchen or bathroom layout.
What is the difference between a pocket door and a flush door?
“Pocket” describes how a door slides into the wall. “Flush to the wall” describes how the finished door and frame sit within the surrounding surface. A concealed-frame hinged door can be flush, and a pocket-door opening can also have an architrave-free finish.
Can a door be concealed within wall panelling?
Yes, where the door system and applied finish are suitable. Ash House’s Acquabella-clad doors show the idea in one of our projects. The panel thickness, weight, clearances and hardware must be considered for each design.
Can I see door ideas in the studio?
Visit our Rugby Design Studio to discuss the glass and solid pocket-door variations used in our displays and projects. Bring a floor plan and any material samples so we can explore the possibilities together.
