A place to think.
A space to feel at home.

A productive working day starts with a space that fits you. We bring practical planning, considered lighting and bespoke furniture together to create home offices with comfort, character and room to focus.

Our own studio office · Designed by Hannah Melvin, Lead Designer

Our own office.
Hannah’s eye for detail.

For our own Kuche & Bagno office, Hannah designed a bespoke desk in Sensa Taj Mahal by Cosentino. The natural quartzite brings soft beige layers and grey and gold veining into the workspace. Its angled form makes the desk a sculptural centrepiece, with room to sit together and talk through a design.

The glass accent is integral to the design: smoked mirror beneath the stone reflects the floor and softens the visual weight of the base. Ash panelling adds a warm, textured backdrop. Together, the materials create a workspace with a clear identity, rather than a desk placed in a spare corner.

The wall-mounted TV is part of the wider composition, framed by lighting and a tall, slim shelving detail. It shows how furniture, screens, storage and light can be designed as one room.

For a home office, we begin with the same attention to detail and adapt it to your working day: who uses the space, the equipment you need, where you sit and how the room feels when work is finished.

Selected spaces from our portfolio

Different homes.
Different ways to work.

A separate retreat, a characterful study or a shared working room: the right answer begins with the home and how it will be used.

The Hut · Avonloch

A room for work, with space to pause.

The Hut’s home office combines solid walnut work surfaces with dark fitted cabinetry. The shaped desk offers a generous working area, while storage keeps everyday equipment close at hand. A sofa and rug give the room a softer, more domestic feel.

It is part of a wider project that includes a cinema, entertainment spaces, spa and sauna. The office has its own purpose within that larger setting: somewhere to work, then leave the desk behind.

18th-century White Lias Stone Coachhouse

Character, carried into the working day.

Deep teal walls, an exposed timber beam and a fitted pale desk give this study a distinct atmosphere. The long work surface follows the room, with storage and shelving worked into the available space.

Rooflight, wall lights and a desk lamp bring different sources of light into a compact room. The contrast of old structure and contemporary furniture is a reminder that a home office can belong naturally within a period interior.

A light-filled Warwickshire family home

Room for two, planned together.

Two desk positions sit along a continuous timber surface, divided by fitted storage. Illuminated shelves make space for books, objects and personal details; closed cupboards provide a quieter backdrop for the practical side of the room.

A window seat gives another place to sit. It is a useful example of considering a study as part of family life, with working, storage and display all given a place.

Designed around your day

Comfort first.
Every detail has a purpose.

Fit the workstation to the person.

Begin with the chair, screen and keyboard, then plan the furniture around them. An adjustable chair with lower-back support, a screen directly ahead with its top around eye level, and a keyboard just below elbow height are useful starting points. For longer laptop sessions, a separate keyboard and mouse allow the screen to be raised.

Leave room beneath the desk and around the chair. Discuss the size of your screens, how you work and any individual access requirements before fixing the desk dimensions.

Make light work throughout the day.

Plan daylight and screen position together. Look at where reflections fall, how the sun moves across the room and whether adjustable blinds are needed. Add a task light for paperwork, comfortable background illumination and separate lighting for shelves or a feature wall.

Lighting should be adjustable to the activity. A softly lit display can give the room atmosphere, but it does not replace suitable light at the working surface. Check mirror and polished-stone reflections from the seated position as well as from the doorway.

Give everything a place.

Design storage around what you actually use: files, samples, charging equipment and the printer. Plan sockets, cable routes and ventilation for equipment early, so the furniture can look composed without making everyday tasks awkward.

For a shared office, discuss simultaneous calls, privacy and each person’s working area. A beautiful backdrop matters, but the room also needs to work when both desks are in use.

Let the room feel like home.

Timber, textiles, artwork and a view beyond the screen can give the space a more personal, restful character. Think about what you see from the desk and what remains visible when you close the laptop.

A chair away from the workstation or a clear boundary between work and living can help mark the end of the day. The aim is a room you enjoy using, with fewer practical distractions and a place for the work you need to do.
