Our brand family · A story by Lisa Melvin, Founder
A little curiosity.
A lasting connection.
From an early blog post to a client’s shower, and eventually our own working spa room.
I am always looking for ideas that change how a room feels. Sunshower caught my attention because it brought something unexpected into an everyday routine: light and warmth, within the shower itself.
Where it began ↓01 / An idea becomes a real room
A reader became
a client story.
My archive takes us back to May 2011, when I wrote Now would you want to tan in the shower? That early article focused on the UV and tanning aspect of the product, and I invited readers to tell me what they thought.
Then a couple came to us with a bathroom brief. They had seen the Bisazza mosaics in our showroom and had read the Sunshower blog. They wanted to bring the two ideas together. The installation followed in 2013, with the panel set into the mosaic-lined shower shown here.
That is a lovely part of the relationship for me: curiosity turned into a conversation, and the conversation became something our clients could use in their own home.

02 / From following to experiencing
Now part of
our own spa room.
I have followed Sunshower over the years, including visiting its stand at ISH in Frankfurt. By late 2013 I was already writing about infrared comfort and the idea of a personal spa at home, alongside my own interest in triathlon training.
More recently, we installed Sunshower in our working showroom spa. Here it sits alongside an AXOR shower and Bisazza mosaics, with the TOTO Flotation Tub nearby. Visitors can see how the products belong within a complete room, and we can talk about the experience as well as the specification.
03 / In our clients’ homes
A different setting.
The same attention to detail.
The principal bathroom at Weybridge gives Sunshower another architectural setting: a generous glazed shower within a private spa-inspired suite.
Position, tile layout, the shower screen and the space around the person using the panel all need to work together. That is where the product conversation becomes a design conversation.

Warmth, light and
the questions worth asking.
Today, Sunshower’s ONE collection uses infrared; PLUS adds a separate UV function. Infrared warmth, LED red-light devices and SAD daylight lamps serve different purposes. Even when technologies share part of the light spectrum, the equipment, dose and intended use matter.
Our Shine On feature in Revealed opened up this conversation. The expanded article brings it up to date, with a clear comparison and my own experience of using the showroom spa while recovering from a back spasm.
