Glass Design.
A beautiful point of difference.

Artisan basins, expressive materials and details that make you stop and look. Glass Design is one of my favourite starting points for a guest restroom with a character of its own.

A basin can be
the starting point.

We have been working with Glass Design since 2017, and I still find the range beautiful. The appeal is in the individuality: the shape of a bowl, the way crystal catches the light, the colour or the detail you notice when you get close.

For powder rooms and guest restrooms, that can be the beginning of the whole design. A relatively small room gives a special piece room to be appreciated. We then consider the furniture, brassware, mirror and lighting around it.

We have used Glass Design in several projects and, since welcoming the brand in 2017, created a dedicated viewing gallery in our studio. It is a brand I enjoy sharing when a brief calls for something personal and a little out of the ordinary.

Vinci, Tuscany · Founded in 1984

Italian craftsmanship.
A distinctive eye.

Founded by the Borsellini family in Vinci, Glass Design brings a Tuscan glassmaking heritage to bathroom design. Its collections include artisan glass and crystal, as well as contemporary materials that allow quite different forms and finishes.

That breadth is part of the attraction. The collection can be luminous and delicate, richly coloured, or strongly sculptural. There is room to find a piece that belongs to the person and the interior.

Cristallo de’ Medici

Glass Design’s Cristallo de’ Medici collection uses mouth-blown crystal, bevelled by skilled artisans. The cuts and facets give light something to move across, making the basin feel different as you walk around it.

VetroFreddo®

VetroFreddo combines glass pigments and resin. It allows sculptural shapes and transparent, semi-transparent or opaque colour. Glass Design also offers RAL colour choices in this material, giving us another way to relate a piece to your room.

A small room.
A memorable detail.

The Glass Design basin is a focal point in the Coachhouse guest restroom. Its patterned surface brings a tactile quality to the pale countertop, with a curved tap and panelling around it.

The mirrored surfaces add another layer, reflecting the room and letting the basin be seen from different angles. It is a lovely example of a distinctive object being considered as part of a complete interior.

We plan the practical details with the same care: the height of the basin, the reach of the tap, the surface beneath and how the room will be used.

In our work · A new-build home

A little drama.
A beautiful focal point.

Alongside the handmade kitchen we designed and installed for this home, the guest restroom has its own distinct atmosphere. The Glass Design basin is set against deep panelling, with a pale countertop and an illuminated mirror drawing attention to its form.

Warm metallic details complete the setting. A small room gives a special piece the space to be noticed.

The basin.
The furniture.
The whole room.

Glass Design is part of the complete composition at Misterton Grange. Lisa selected its expressive furniture and basins to bring character to the bathrooms, including a black glass bowl on a sculptural white console with a dark top.

The console’s curved outline gives the basin a setting of its own. Elsewhere, a gold-toned bowl changes the mood, bringing warmth and reflection beside a turquoise bath.

A complete composition

Follow the detail.

A faceted basin can be the beginning of a material story that continues into the handles and accessories. Those repeated details give the room a sense of connection.

We can help you choose how far to take it, whether that means one expressive basin or a coordinated setting. The furniture and lighting give the piece its place within the room.

Glass Design × Dornbracht

The detail reaches the brassware.

Glass Design’s collaboration with Dornbracht brings crystal handles to MEM fittings. It is a beautiful way to connect the craftsmanship of the basin area with the parts you touch every day.

Both designs are offered in small and medium versions. We can explore the available MEM combinations and finishes with you as part of the complete basin specification.

Our viewing gallery · In the family since 2017

A glimpse on
the way upstairs.

As you ascend the stairs into our showroom, a viewing window offers a first glimpse of our Glass Design gallery. It is a lovely introduction to the pieces waiting inside.

We welcomed Glass Design into our brand family in 2017. The dedicated display lets visitors look closely at the basins, move around them and see how the surfaces catch the light.

Glass Design is based in Vinci, Tuscany. Its crystal collections include mouth-blown pieces finished by skilled craftspeople; other collections explore different materials and techniques. We can help you understand the character of the particular basin that catches your eye.
