I've become fascinated by the developing conversation around longevity architecture. The terminology may be relatively new, but many of the principles aren't. I see longevity architecture as designing buildings around the people who will actually live inside them, bringing together architecture, interior design, building science, technology, and our growing understanding of human well-being.

The real value of wellness design isn't how impressive it looks, but how meaningfully it supports the life lived around it.

Perhaps, as designers, we need to stop asking “How much light can we put into this room?” and start asking “How much light does the person in this room actually need, where do they need it and at what time of day?” To me, that feels like a much more human way to design a home.
