Buster + Punch: 'Black Sheep' of Interiors

For us discovering Buster + Punch two years ago was a revelation, a breath of fresh air at a time when handles in contemporary kitchen design had been forgotten about.

At the time a handless or J profile door featured prominently in an array of homes throughout the UK, whether it be a one-bedroom apartment or a sprawling family abode. The only difference was the price and of course attention to detail of the door, either foil wrapped or painstakingly lacquered to achieve a pristine finish, akin to a paint job on a Bentley.

Handle innovation had been unceremoniously brushed to one side which for budding furniture designers like ourselves, who look to create unique commissioned pieces, made sourcing suitable hardware a real challenge.

But founder Massimo Buster Minale, working out of a garage in East London had a vision. Fuelled by London's fashion, music and sub-culture scenes, collaborating with street artists, bike builders, musicians and fashion designers he entered into the Interior Design domain. In an unapologetic and unconventional manner he injected attitude into his diverse product portfolio.

From lighting and hardware, to custom motorcycles and whisky bars, Buster + Punch have excelled at making unexpected and elegant interior products for those who want to live with conviction, and we love it.

With offices now in London, Los Angeles and Stockholm, constant new additions are being added to their portfolio, including our current favourites the caged ceiling light range and door lever handles. Along with this Buster + Punch have been able to tell their story in an unconventional and exciting way, by creating an incredible short movie 'SWITCH UP' which features a super model and the UK’s hottest female rapper. Buster + Punch are certainly pushing boundaries and we can’t wait to see what 2019 has in store for them.

"We have always prided ourselves on being the first to most things, in an effort to bash down the walls that contain (and sometimes suffocate) the interior products business. It’s taken a lot of blood, sweat and tears, but I am very proud to announce our first short movie which in a portal into the Buster + Punch world: SWITCH UP. Through a filmic narrative, we have been able to tell our story in an unconventional and exciting way, cementing us as the ‘black sheep’ of interiors." – Massimo Buster Minale, founder Buster + Punch
