WOLVERTON KITCHEN

PROJECT BRIEF

For some, an imposing space is what they’re after, but for this couple, it was imperative that their new kitchen should blend in seamlessly with the rest of their Edwardian Property as part of the main living zone. And colour choice was the key to success.

The kitchen was housed in a new extension which became an open-plan living space, making the most of the views of their south facing garden.

The clients appointed Kuche & Bagno with a brief to create a space that was sociable and included a large island.

With the advice from of interior designer Hannah Davidson, the couple settled on a more streamlined Mackintosh Integral kitchen in a similar palette of soft taupe and hickory, which complemented the rest of the space. They opted for a grey, concrete-effect Dekton worktop, resistant to stains, scratches and heat.

The main feature is the supersized, clutter-free island, incorporating the hob, sinks, dishwasher, a large dish drawer and seating. Hannah was careful to ensure that the island was non-intrusive when not in use, recommending a retractable Neff down-draft extractor. An In Sink Erator waste disposal system was also installed.

And for added ease, Hannah doubled up on some of the mod cons with two sinks, ovens and larders.

The lighting scheme combined overhead lights for cooking and LED's to create a relaxing atmosphere in the evenings.

"Originally, we were after a very streamlined kitchen, but then we saw a very traditional kitchen (with a contemporary twist) in the Kuche & Bagno showroom and we loved it. We especially loved the colours!"
